All COVID-19 restrictions at SDU to be lifted from 1 February
All of the current restrictions with corona pass, virtual exams, protective equipment and the call for working from home at universities will be lifted when 1 February 2022 rolls around.

SDU to establish a set of values
During the next few months, a task force will draft a set of values that SDU, among other things, can apply with regard to future cases of the liberty of SDU employees to conduct research, teach, discuss and express themselves as they please.

Extension of infection-preventing measures at higher-educational institutions
All of the current restrictions with corona passes, virtual exams, protective equipment and the call for working from home at universities have been extended until the end of January. On the upside, we have hopes of a normal study start in February.

SDU’s institutional plan has been submitted
SDU has submitted a plan to the Ministry of Higher Education and Science describing how the University intends to comply with the political agreement on more and better educational opportunities throughout Denmark. The content is largely identical to the draft presented to the Board in December. SDU wants to strengthen the University’s regional position, but this should not happen by reducing SDU’s student places in Odense.

New restrictions at SDU from 19 December 2021
In order to curb the increasing spread of COVID-19 in society, new restrictions have been introduced at SDU and in the rest of the university sector from Sunday 19 December 2021. You must wear a face covering or visor if you show up in person, and the requirement for a valid corona pass has been extended by four weeks.

SDU and Vejle Municipality in close collaboration on campus
More than 9,000 students are currently studying a degree programme in the Triangle Region. This number is set to increase with SDU and Vejle Municipality’s joint announcement of the establishment of SDU Vejle, a new campus offering IT, health and engineering programmes.

The Board of SDU has adopted a proposal for an institutional plan
SDU’s proposal for how the University will comply with the political agreement on ‘More and better educational opportunities throughout Denmark’ has been approved by the Board of SDU.

Call for working from home and cancellation of events: New COVID-19 measures at SDU
As of 10 December, new COVID-19 restrictions will take effect across Denmark. The universities remain open and may conduct teaching, exams and research, but are encouraged to cancel social events and make use of remote work.

Admission to SDU requires a valid corona passport from Monday 29 November
New COVID-19 restrictions mean that students, employees and visitors to SDU must be able to present a valid corona passport at SDU’s locations from Monday 29 November. Random inspections will be carried out.

Comments on the draft of SDU’s institutional plan regarding regionalisation
In the coming days and weeks, SDU will involve several of the University’s bodies in the regionalisation proposal which SDU has been asked to submit to the Ministry of Higher Education and Science at the turn of the year.

COVID-19 is again a critical threat to society
The Danish Parliament has again decided to categorise the coronavirus as a disease presenting a critical threat to society. SDU is not subject to new COVID-19 restrictions. Employees and students are encouraged to show consideration for colleagues and fellow students and follow the health authorities’ recommendations and advice.

SDU set to strengthen its regional activities
This summer’s political agreement on education in Denmark stipulates that the admission of students in the nation’s four largest cities must be reduced by 2030. SDU stands a good chance of meeting the requirement thanks to the University’s multiple regional campuses. Towards the turn of the year, SDU is working on preparing a plan to strengthen the University’s regional activities and reduce the number of student places in Odense.
