Faglig vejleder Kolding

An academic advisor is a student employed by the university to help, guide, and advise you as a fellow student.

For many, an academic advisor is an important part of a good start to their studies and a positive daily study experience.
We can answer questions you might not feel comfortable asking your lecturers, and we can also help you find various kinds of information.

We can assist you with, among other things:

  • Making educational choices and providing information about the programs and the study environment (for prospective students)

  • Understanding the rules in your curriculum

  • Applying to the study board for things like credit transfer or exemptions from the rules

  • Advice on elective courses

  • Getting the most out of your study group work

  • Planning a study abroad period

  • Creating individual study plans, for example, if you’ve fallen behind on ECTS credits, are an elite athlete, or are going on parental leave

  • Day-to-day challenges – for example, if something isn't working properly with the delivery of your classes

  • Other questions you don’t know where to get answered

We’re also happy to listen to more personal concerns, and of course, we are bound by confidentiality.
In some cases, we as academic advisors may not be allowed or able to advise you, but in that case, we will refer you to the right place.

We advise students in the following programs:

  • Business Administration, BSc – all specializations

  • Business Administration, BSc – credit transfer

  • MSc in Economics and Business Administration – all profiles

  • MSc in Business Economics and Auditing

  • Professional Master’s programs
We offer both in-person and online guidance.

If you prefer in-person guidance on campus, you’re welcome to visit our office at 61.47 on the 6th floor, where you can talk with one of us in a calm setting. We offer appointments by arrangement.

If you prefer digital guidance, we’ll meet on Zoom. We use our cameras so we can see each other, and we share our screen so we’re working from the same page.

If you prefer a phone call, we’re happy to call you at a time that suits you.

Regardless of the type of guidance you prefer, please send us an email at: vejledercm-ha@sdu.dk.

If you prefer to receive guidance via email, that’s also possible.

If you’re unsure who can answer your question, you’re always welcome to write to us — we promise not to let you go until we’ve found the person best suited to help you!

We look forward to talking with you and helping you get the most out of your student life!

Best regards,
Karttheka Kathirgamanathan and Annika Sieswerda
