Monday 1 September marks the first official day of teaching in the autumn semester.
However, a few courses may be taught as intensive summer courses during August, in which case that is noted in the course description.
At a new graduate student at SDU, you must register for courses before the start of the semester. You can do this approximately 3 days after ordering your student card.
You register via SDU’s Student Self-Service. The deadline is 31 August if your programme starts on 1 September – and 31 January if you are admitted with a start date of 1 February.
When you register for a course, you are automatically registered for the first exam attempt.
In itslearning, under the Calendar tab, you can always find your teaching schedule for the courses you are enrolled in.
If you need to choose electives or plan an individual study programme, and you want to avoid schedule overlaps, you can also use the tool skemaplan.sdu.dk to compile a schedule for the courses you wish to take before enrolling in them.
All the books you need can be purchased in the bookstore at SDU Odense or online at www.academicbooks.dk, where you will also find curriculum lists.
The curriculum lists are updated continuously right up until the start of the semester.
Ask your teachers for advice
It is always a good idea to ask your teachers for advice on which literature you must make a priority to buy and which literature is considered to be of secondary importance and which you may not necessarily need to buy.
Once you have ordered your student card, you can access SDU’s IT facilities, such as your SDU email, Student Self-Service, and the e-learning platform, itslearning.
If you are a new student at SDU, or if it has been more than 90 days since you completed your bachelor’s degree, you need to order a student card.
When you order your student card, you will be assigned an exam number, which you will need to access SDU’s IT facilities.
As a student at SDU, you are required to familiarize yourself with the university’s study regulations and comply with them.
For instance, you must register for courses and exams yourself – and at the same time pass at least one exam per year. You must also complete your programme within a set timeframe, and there are established rules for leave of absence and much more.
We expect you to stay informed about announcements from SDU at the following places:
It is your own responsibility to stay updated on schedule changes, exam plans, study regulations, etc.
