At your course, you have the opportunity to participate in various individual talent activities.
The activities are extracurricular, which means that by participating in one or more activities in addition to your regular study, you earn extra ECTS points.
- The individual talent activities must be initiated by you as a student and / or your supervisor.
- The activities you choose to participate in must be related to your education, and you must be able to document the academic result.
- As a student, you must not be late in your standard course of study, either before, during or after the activities.
- The activity that you want to participate in must be approved by the relevant study board, this must be ensured by your supervisor.
Here you can see a list of the types of activities that your study board has decided to recognize as individual talent activities:
- Participation in subject-relevant conferences with paper.
- Publication of articles in recognized journals with BFI points.
- Participation in research and development activities for the purpose of publishing or developing a project.
- Participation in subject-relevant activities that are not included in the standardization of the education's ECTS point, eg talent programs, “summer schools” etc..
- Participation in other activities that the study board cannot anticipate, but which can be submitted to the study board for approval / recognition.
A supervisor must be attached to the research activities. This supervisor recommends to the study board that the student's activity should trigger an acknowledgment of the diploma. Because of the activity's relation to research, the guidance and recommendation must be made by a senior researcher (associate professor or above).
In order to have a talent activity recognized on your diploma, there must be a supervisor or other professional associated with the activity. It is this supervisor (or other professional) who sets the activity for approval by the relevant study board.
Note, however, that it is you as a student who is responsible for the setting.
