Do you have a Bachelor´s degree soon and want to build on your professional competency? If so you can choose to apply for a Master´s programme. You can do so at both SDU or another university.
If you choose to apply for a Master´s programme, you can look forward to two years where you can immerse yourself in your field of choice and tailor your academic profile to your specific interest and ambitions.
Master's courses before completing your Bachelor's
Even though you might still need to pass one or more courses in your Bachelor's programme, you have the opportunity to enrol in a few courses in your future Master's programme. This may be a good idea if e.g. you are missing a single examination in your Bachelor's programme at the time you wish to begin your Master's programme.
You are not admitted to the Master's programme, until you complete your Bachelor's
Until you have completed the last course in your Bachelors' programme you are not officially admitted to your Master's programme. The Maximum Period of Study, stating how long you can take to finish your Master's programme doesn't begin until then.
What about my SU?
You can only receive Master's-SU after you have completed your Bachelor's.
You can enrol in a maximum of 30 ECTS in your Master's programme before completing your Bachelor's. Therefore, it is important that you above all prioritise to finishing your Bachelor's programme. Enrolment in courses in a Master's programme also affects e.g. your SU.

You may be permitted to enrol in courses in your future Master's programme even though you have not completed your Bachelor's, if you meet the following criteria:
- You are missing a maximum of 15 ECTS in your Bachelor's programme
- You have passed all courses on the 1st and 2nd semester as well as your Bachelor's project
NB: If you apply for the Masters' programmes in international virksomhedskommunikation or cand.merc.int. you must only be missing a maximum of 5 ECTS in your Bachelor's programme.
If you meet the criteria, you must apply for the Master's programme normally through the Application Portal. Together with your application you need to submit a request for permission to be enroled in Master's courses before completing your bachelor's.
If you are missing more or other courses in your Bachelor's programme than the criteria allows, you must apply for an exemption to get permission to be enroled in courses in the Master's programme. You do this by marking that you are applying for an exemption and substantiating why, in your request for permission.
To keep your legal claim you merely need to begin your Master's programme at the study start following the time you pass your final examination in your Bachelor's programme.
