General

Unfortunately, it was not possible to reach an agreement that could have led to Roskilde University taking over SDU Slagelse.

Subsequently, SDU has been working on alternative solutions, but without finding a sustainable alternative - you can read more in this article.

That is understandable, and it is important that you reach out about it. Talk to someone about the situation, or contact the General Study Counselling at SDU to discuss your concerns.

Write to our counsellors at vejledning@sdu.dk.

Will I still have the same opportunities in the labour market and how will potential employers perceive me?

You will still have the same options.

Your future employers will consider you, your skills, your qualifications and your personality.

Contact SDU’s career guidance at karriere@sdu.dk if you are nervous about your specific situation.

Unfortunately, students cannot be consulted about the University’s plans to close SDU Slagelse, as SDU’s management has made a final decision.

If you have any questions, please write to us via the Slagelse button in SPOC.

Current student at SDU Slagelse?

In principle, enrolled students are given the opportunity to complete their education programme within the prescribed period of study.

There is a time limit
However, please be aware that the time limit for completing your programme still applies. If you already know that you will have difficulties meeting the time limit, you must contact your board of studies.

In the event of unforeseen circumstances
If you are affected by ‘unusual circumstances’ that prevent you from sitting an exam when it is offered for the last time, you can apply for a dispensation to sit the exam at a later date.

We pay particular attention to informing about when classes and exams are offered for the last time.

Your programme will issue further information about this in due course.

If you are in doubt about how to proceed in connection with course registration, please contact your board of studies/degree programme secretary.

SDU is obliged to ensure teaching within the prescribed course of study, but you may find that you will be assigned new lecturers along the way.
No, not within the prescribed course of study, although there may be a need for individual exceptions.

No, not within the prescribed course of study, as SDU is obliged to ensure teaching at SDU Slagelse.

However, if you are unable to complete your studies as scheduled, you may have to attend classes at one of SDU’s other campuses or transfer.

If a change of main subjects/profile and campus is possible for your study programme, you can find out more on your study page on MitSDU:

As no new students will be admitted to the programmes, you will not be able to study for your master’s degree in Slagelse.

Your options at SDU

You will have the so-called ‘legal claim’, which applies if you apply no later than 3 years after completing your bachelor programme. However, the legal claim does not apply to the PBA programme.

Note: Your legal claim is tied to the institution and not the geographical location. It may therefore be that the master’s programme for which you have a legal claim is offered on a different campus than Slagelse.

Furthermore, admission is always dependent on the requirements of the programme offered. For more information on admission requirements for the master’s degree programme that you are considering applying for, please refer to the relevant page at sdu.dk. You can also contact SDU’s admissions team via SPOC for guidance.

The time limit for completing your education programme still applies.
