Here you will find the general requirements for you to be an active student. They cover both your first year and when you must complete the programme. There is also a requirement that you pass exams every year.
You have 1 year to pass you First-Year Examination
Within the first year of study you must pass the exams in the First-Year Examination to continue your studies. If you do not pass the First-Year Examination within the deadline, you will be notified that you will be withdrawn from your programme.
If you fail subjects from the First-Year Examination
It is important that you focus on passing the First-year Examination within the deadline. If you fail courses that are part of the First-Year Examination, you must make sure to sign up for the exams again. It is your responsibility to sign up for reexaminations.

Some of the courses in the First-Year Examination are on the 1. semester. Others are on the 2. semester. You have 3 examination attempts to pass the First-Year Examination courses on the 1. semester, but only 2 attempts to pass the First-Year Examination courses on the 2. semester.

The exam periods stated is only guiding. Always make sure to keep up to date on the specific examination dates in the exam schedule and on SDU's digital platform.
If things do not go according to plan
You can apply for an exemption to postpone the deadline for completing the First-Year Examination. An exemption may be granted only if you are able to document that due to exceptional circumstances, it has been impossible for you to complete the First-Year Examination within the deadline.
