New Library System – Making Things Easier for You!
From December 17, SDU Library has introduce a new system that simplifies and unifies our services.
Here’s what it means for you as a staff member or student:
- The search box works as before: The search box on SDU.dk, MitSDU, and SDUnet will continue to work – it will simply connect to the new system.
- New name and address: The new system is called Mimer and will be available from December 17.
- One unified search experience: Features from the old library catalog and Summon will be combined into Mimer, bringing everything together in one place.
- Updating links: If you’ve linked to resources from the old catalog or Summon, such as semester reading lists in Itslearning, you’ll need to update those links after December 17.
- Goodbye to Summon: Summon will no longer be updated and will gradually become incomplete. It will be permanently closed in March 2025, so make sure to move any saved resources to a new location before then.
- Easy ordering and purchase suggestions: Ordering materials from other libraries and suggesting purchases will now be done directly in Mimer.
We’re excited to present a modern library system that makes it easier and more accessible for you to find and use our resources. We understand it may take some time to adjust, but we hope you’ll embrace it warmly.

Note that you cannot order materials in books.sdu or Summon - you must do so at https://mimer.sdu.dk/ |

- We’re still here – visit the library, and we’ll be happy to help.
- You can still borrow and return SDU’s own books and materials.
- You’ll still have full access to all our online resources.
- You can still order articles as usual.
