Philoteket is an area of the library, Campus Odense, designed for PhD students. The space is suitable for larger events of both academic and social character.
PhD students can book Philoteket by sending an email to philoteket@bib.sdu.dk. The room is located on the first floor of the library.
Regular activities in Philoteket include:
- PhD Cafés: These are academic and social events aimed at PhD students. Here you can get advice on literature searching, Open Access publishing, copyright, data management, Pure, ORCID, Scopus, etc. Other PhD Cafés take the form of talks, workshops, and Ask Me Anything events.
- PAUSD events: PAUSD hosts meetings, academic workshops, board game nights, and other social events in Philoteket.
- RCR courses: The mandatory PhD course Responsible Conduct of Research is usually held in Philoteket.
Philoteket is divided into two areas: an academic environment with AV equipment for presentations and online meetings, and a social environment with sofa groups and a small kitchenette. This way, PhD students can host anything from seminars and thesis defenses to purely social activities.
Please note that Philoteket is not fully enclosed, so it is not suitable for meetings with confidential items.
