Check your registrations
When you are registered for classes, you will automatically be registered for the ordinary exam (1st exam attempt).
Always check well in advance of the exam which exams you are registered for, to make sure you are on the right lists, and keep an eye out for potential changes. You can check your exam registrations on the SDU Student Self Service pages and/or in the Digital Exam system.
You can only access the exam if you are registered for the exam, so remember to check your registrations.
Dates of both written and oral exams are listed in the exam schedule, which is published at the beginning of each semester. Information about the location, meeting time, start time, and end time for each exam can be found in itslearning well in advance of the exam.
Register for the re-exam
If you do not pass the ordinary exam, or if you are absent from the regular exam, you have the opportunity to take a re-exam in the same exam period as the regular exam.
You register for the re-exam in SDU Student Self-Service.
If you wish to take the re-exam in the same exam period as the regular exam, it is important that you register for the re-exam during the registration period, even if you have not yet received your results or attended the exam.
See re-exam periods and registration periods for the re-exam.
If a course is offered for the last time, there may be mandatory and automatic registration for the re-exam.
If, due to extraordinary circumstances, you have used your three attempts without passing an exam, you can apply to the study board for a dispensation for additional exam attempts.
Register for exams without being registered for classes
You are automatically enrolled in the first exam attempt when you register for a course. However, if you need to register for the second or third exam attempt, you can sign up for the exam without being enrolled in the course.
If, for example, you need to retake an exam the year after your first attempt, it is generally a good idea to attend the course again to improve your chances of passing. The faculty’s student counsellors can help you create a study plan and discuss your options.
Contact the student counsellors at the Faculty of Science.
Even if you do not enrol in the course again, it will be relevant for you to access the latest version of the course in itslearning. Here, you will find the current teaching materials, etc.
Contact your degree programme to gain access to the latest course materials in itslearning.
If you are not enrolled in the course but wish to register for the exam, you must do so during the special exam registration periods.
