Check your registrations
When you are registered for classes, you will automatically be registered for the ordinary exam (1st exam attempt).
Always check well in advance of the exam which exams you are registered for, to make sure you are on the right lists, and keep an eye out for potential changes. You can check your exam registrations on the SDU Student Self Service pages and/or in the Digital Exam system.
You can only access the exam if you are registered for the exam, so remember to check your registrations.
Information about the exam
You can find exam dates in the exam schedule.
More specific information about exams, such as examination room and time, can be found in the system Digital Exam no later than 7 days before the ordinary exam and no later than 3 days before the re-exam.
As changes may occur, you should stay updated regularly.
Register for the re-exam
As a rule, you have three attempts to pass each exam. If you have not used all your exam attempts, you can register for a re-exam.
If you wish to register for the re-exam in the same exam period as the ordinary exam, you must register for the re-exam during the exam registration period, even if you have not yet received your assessment or attended the ordinary exam.
You can see your used exam attempts and register for the re-exam in SDU Student Self-Service pages.
Go to the SDU Student Self-Service pages.
If a course is offered for the last time, there may be mandatory and automatic registration for the re-exam.
If, due to unusual circumstances, you have used your three exam attempts without passing the exam, you can apply for an extra exam attempt.
Re-exams are held in continuation of the ordinary exams and take place in February (winter exams) and August (summer exams). You can register for re-exams during the following periods:
• Winter exams: January 1 - 20
• Summer exams: June 1 - 20
Register for exams without being registered for classes
You are automatically registered for the exam when you register for classes, but if you need to register for the 2nd or 3rd examination attempt (re-exam), you can register for the exam without being registered for or attending the classes.
If you want to take an exam, it is generally a good idea to sign up for classes and attend them. Even if you do not attend the classes, it will be relevant for you to have access to the latest version of the course on itslearning. Here you will be able to find the current teaching materials, syllabuses, etc.
If you are not registered for classes, but would like to register for the exam, you must do so during the special exam registration periods. Please note, that the exam registration period varies from faculty to faculty, if you are taking courses at other faculties.
• Winter exams: October 20 – 30
• Summer exams: March 20 - 30
