29 August
Orientation day for all international students on campus where we will help you with practical matters.
30 August
We are very excited to welcome you all on Friday, 30 August, from 9:30-17:15 at AGORA (located at the Institute for Political Science) at SDU in Odense.
MOISL students from the 3rd semester and professors look forward to an introduction day full of important information and social activities. The intro-day will include a free lunch so please register below no later than Monday, 26 August, whether you will participate so we can plan accordingly. After the program ends, you have the option to continue with the 3rd semester students for a social gathering and some food at Storms in Odense to digest all the new information.
Our own experience as well as feedback from previous students tell us that it really is meaningful to participate in the intro-day. You will learn more about what to expect from MOISL, both from the professors (“the official view”) and current students (“the real story”). The program will also give you a sense of what MOISL will be about: there will be a panel of MOISL professors on what the upcoming US presidential elections may mean for international security and international law.
Please note that the current students will continuously add information and updates before 30 August in the aforementioned Facebook Group (2024 International Security and Law) – please join it but also keep checking your new SDU email.
Here is the program for the Introduction Day as it currently stands:
9:30-10:00: Welcome by current MOISL students
10:00-11:00: Social games and icebreakers
11:15-12:00: MOISL survival guide by current students and tour of SDU campus
12:00-13:00: Lunch break
13:00-14:00: Introduction to MOISL by the program’s co-directors
14:15-15:15: MOISL and the upcoming US elections: what does the next US president mean for international security and international law?
15:30-16:00: What comes after MOISL? Inspiration from SDU’s Career Office
16:15-17:15: What is MOISL really like? Do’s and Don’ts by current MOISL students
17:30: Optional get-together at Storms
If you are an international student, please note that SDU’s International Office has planned an Orientation Day in addition to this program. Try to attend both days.
More details about how to register for Introduction Day will be provided in the mail, which you will receive approximately two weeks before semester start.
