Study Board

What can I use the study board for?

You can apply for the study board to grant you an exemption if extraordinary circumstances prevent you from living up to the rules and regulations that apply to you as a student.

You may also apply for a credit transfer if you want to do a course that hasn't already been pre-approved, for example a course at another university, or if you have passed courses as part of another programme.

Furthermore, the study board also deals with proposed changes to your programme, appeals and continuously optimising your programme. If you have suggestions for changes to your programme, you may send them to the study board.

In other words, the study board is a democratic body, where you as a student may have a say and have influence on the future development of your programme.

Study board members have a duty of confidentiality

If you need to apply for a dispensation, you may have to explain some very personal reasons for doing so to the study board because a valid reason is needed to grant you a dispensation.

Naturally, you may find it uncomfortable having to mention your private conditions; therefore, all members of the study board have a duty of confidentiality.

How can I become a member of the study board?

Elections for the study board are held once a year. In October – before the elections in November – you will receive an e-mail explaining how to run for the election.

If you are elected, you will be serving on the study board in the following calendar year (from 1 January up to and including 31 December).
