Job opportunities

A Master of Science in Public Health qualifies students to work with assignments in health planning and health administration as well as analysis, development, planning, counselling, teaching and research in relation to health prevention and health promotion.

Job opportunities

Students will be able to apply for jobs in health planning and health administration at local, national, regional and international level in the public or private sector.

Examples of potential jobs can be found in national and regional agencies and institutions as well as agencies and institutions of large municipalities - e.g. the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Ministry of Labour and their agencies, hospital and health managements together with social and health planning departments in counties and municipalities.

In addition, students can apply for jobs in national and international organisations dealing with prevention and combating of disease - e.g. WHO, the EU, Red Cross, the OECD and the World Bank.

Students with a degree in Public Health Science can find jobs in large patient organisations such as the Danish Cancer Society, the Danish Heart Foundation and large national and international sports organisations.

Masters of Science in Public Health with qualifications in the field of public health in general and health promotion in particular are expected to become involved in personnel administration and human resource development as well as project initiatives and project management – duties which have become more and more frequent in the public as well as in the private sector.

Finally, students can apply for jobs within research and teaching at universities and institutions of higher education and teaching within social and health educations.
