Purpose
The overall purpose of the study environment survey is to improve the study environment at SDU.
The survey is conducted to measure the satisfaction with the study environment and thereby gain a better understanding of the study environment and well-being among the students. The aim is to determine where we can best improve the conditions and create an even better study environment.
The results of the survey will form the basis for specific action plans that will be implemented within a year of the survey to improve the study environment where necessary.
In addition, extended analyses of the survey results will be conducted. The analyses are carried out by key persons (people with special access to data) at the faculties and in the Central Administration, and data from the SMU can be combined with other data to better understand the students and the study environment.
If there is a demand for data from public authorities and the SMU is deemed to be the only source, data will be handed over with reference to the Danish University Act.
Data management and accessing conditions
At the end of the survey period, the data will be prepared for use according to the purpose as mentioned above.
This includes the following:
The data will be treated confidentially and will be aggregated for further use.
The data will be made available in the following three ways. For all the reports, the lowest level at which data is calculated is a combination of level of education, programme and campus. A number of questions will be treated with special care and will only be shared with selected employees, see item I below. The data made available in accordance with item III below, i.e., when employment conditions are not in effect, have been discretised. In practice, this means that the data will be calculated in proportions and averages, and that each question must be answered by at least five respondents.
- Selected faculty employees will receive relevant data, including free text fields
- A web report which will provide access to aggregated representations of the data for employees who need to assess and work with data from the SMU. A licence is required to access this solution.
- For students, selected discretised data will be made available in a simple format, reported at education programme level.
If you have any questions about the data management, please email smu@sdu.dk for more information.
