For an organization value is created through the people working in it. Human Resource Management (HRM) is a broad field, looking into the management of people and work. HRM includes all processes related to recruitment, selection, development and motivation of employees and performance management.
Classical questions, driving student interest within the field, includes motivation in the workplace, management of culturally diverse employees, intercultural competences, female leaders, and employer branding.
Current questions range from working from home, platform-work or gig-work and the use of digital technologies in the workplace to the use of artificial intelligence for evaluation of CV´s in recruitment, to agile methods.
Modern organizations , public and private, are part of a dynamic and complex environment. Organisations and companies must respond quickly to economic challenges, and at the same time adapt to take more responsibility. Not only for the bottom line, but also for their impact on stakeholders and the environment. This puts great demands on strategies, cultures, and structures in the organizations.
Students can work with questions about management of change processes (e.g. culture change, vertical and horizontal communication, the role of mid-level manager), digitalization og its demands on culture and structure in the organisation, sustainability and competitive structures in the post-Corona era.
