How to apply for admission to a Master's Programme
Remember that you have a legal claim to admission!
Your Bachelor’s Degree gives you the right to admission on one or more Master’s programmes. It means that you have a legal claim to being admitted to the programmes the claim concerns. Read about your legal claim in the curriculum for the Master's programme.
However, it is imperative that you seek admission at the first admission intake after your graduation. If you apply later, the legal claim is no longer in effect.
Examples:
- If you complete your Bachelor’s programme in the summer of 2018 and have applied for admission to the Master’s programme that you have a legal claim to, before or on March 1st 2018, you are certain to be admitted to the programme by September 2018.
- If you complete your Bachelor’s programme in the summer of 2018 but choose to delay applying for admission to the Master’s programme that you have a legal claim to until the following admission period by September 2019, the claim is no longer in effect. It may still be possible for you to be admitted, but you have no claim to be so.
If e.g. you are delayed or have taken leave of absence or something else is prolonging your studies, your legal claim continues to be in effect, as long as you apply for admission to the Master’s programme on completion of your Bachelor’s programme.
Can I start on my Master’s programme before having completed my Bachelor’s degree?
Even though you may still need to pass one or two subject on your Bachelor’s programme, you may still apply for admission to a Master’s programme, on condition that you live up to a number of criteria, which can be found here.
