Where and when?

Intro Days on Campus

We look forward to welcoming you on campus in late August (week 35).

The Intro Days are your gatewayto university life. Here, you will meet your fellow students and be introduced to the academic and social communities that will shape your time at SDU.

As the programme is coherent and connected, we look forward to seeing you every day to ensure you get the best possible start.

Be sure to check your student email regularly. This is where you will receive essential information about your introduction days and your upcoming studies.

How to Uni


How to Uni is an online course that prepares you for life at SDU. Completion of the course is mandatory as it constitutes your study start test.

  • The study start test confirms that you have actively commenced your programme. You pass the test by completing all modules in the online course How to Uni.

    Deadline: You must pass the study start test no later than 7 September 2026 at 23.59.

    Attempts: You have two attempts. If you do not pass the test, you will be unenrolled from the university. We therefore recommend starting well in advance.

  • 1: Once you have ordered your student card, you can activate your SDU account: Go to password.sdu.dk/newstudent

    2: Log in: Go to itslearning.sdu.dk.

    3: Complete the course: Find How to Uni in the overview on itslearning. When all five modules are completed and passed, the How to Uni course is considered completed. 

    The course contains everything you need to get started with your new student life.

    The course guides you through IT systems, rules, and the expectations set for you as a student by the university and your instructors.

  • If you fall ill and are unable to complete the course by the deadline, you must seek guidance immediately:

    Contact us: Write to your study board via spoc.sdu.dk.

    Documentation: You must consult a doctor during the period when you are prevented and submit a medical certificate with diagnosis and time period to your study board via SPOC. Since the study start test spans a longer period, dispensation usually requires illness during a significant part of the period.

All the practicalities

Before you truly embark on your new studies, there are a few practical matters you need to take care of.

Check out these points to ensure you're ready from the start.

  • To use SDU’s systems, you need to activate your SDU account.

    Activate SDU account: Once you have ordered your student card, you must activate your SDU account at password.sdu.dk.

    Check your SDUmail: This is where all important communication from SDU will be sent. We also send information about study start here. Check it daily!

    The learning platform itslearning: Here you will find your teaching materials and reading lists.

    Shortcut: You can find direct links to all important systems on MySDU under the menu item 'Links'.

  • Your schedule will be available during August. You can find it on itslearning under the menu item 'Calendar'.

    Important: Remember to check your schedule regularly at the beginning, as changes to rooms or times may occur.
  • Get help to find your way, get an overview of parking rules, and view campus maps with the SDU Guide.

    App: Download the SDU Maps app. Here you can search for your room (e.g., U45) and get directions straight to it.

    The tutors: Your tutors are also ready on campus during the introduction day to guide and assist you.

  • If you have previously been enrolled in another programme without completing it, it is a legal requirement that you apply for starting credit.

    This means we assess whether your previous courses can be transferred to your new programme.
