One master's degree can lead you down many different paths

There are many graduate programs. And often, your bachelor's degree will give you access to several different master's degree programs, just at SDU. Across all Danish universities, you have access to even more.

With so many different ones, you might think that they lead to specific jobs. But that is rarely the case. Your study qualifies you for many different positions and types of jobs. 

Your subject-specific knowledge of the topics you have had throughout your studies, means that you can be a specialist within that field. But you are also qualified for a whole lot of generalist positions, because you went to university. In fact, for some generalist positions you could have studied almost anything. Just having a university degree is enough. 

It can feel like both a good thing and a bad thing. Some people think, “Phew, that’s nice, so I DON’T have to work with this field. I might just as well do something else I dream of.” Others think: “Even more options? What the heck am I supposed to do?”

• Do you want to become even more specialized and have fun with that?

• What are the most important elements to you in a course of study? Working method? Flexibility? The social environment? Number of class hours? What has worked best for you so far?

Some master's degree programs are similar to each other in their structure. You will typically have the opportunity to create your own profile through your options along the way. It could be project-oriented courses, projects and your master's thesis.
