SDU's Study Environment Award

In the evaluation of nominations, emphasis is placed on the extent to which the initiative:

• actively addresses key aspects of a good study environment, e.g. by strengthening academic and social communities, counteracting loneliness, or otherwise contributing to student well-being
• is relevant to and possibly involves a broad group of students within a specific educational environment or across SDU
• constitutes or has the potential to constitute a lasting positive contribution

All students and employees at SDU can submit nominations. The deadline for doing this is June 1. 

From the total pool of nominations, the Academic Council at each faculty selects one candidate to represent the faculty for SDU’s Study Environment Award. In addition, the Rectorate may select one candidate among initiatives that span across faculties.

The University Council then ranks the six nominated candidates and recommends two potential winners. Based on this recommendation, the Executive Board makes the final decision on the award recipient.

The winner is announced at SDU’s Annual Celebration.

The winner of the award receives a personal prize of up to DKK 5,000 per person, with a maximum total of DKK 20,000 if awarded to a group. If the group consists of more than four people, the DKK 20,000 will be divided among the recipients.

In addition to the personal prize, the winner receives DKK 50,000 for activities that support the study environment. This amount is granted as a drawing right, meaning the money is not paid out directly, but the winner can have expenses covered upon approval.
