The system Digital Exam is the new digital system at SDU, where you can get an overview of your exams and submit your exam assignments. Digital Exam is launched with the summer exams in 2020 and will be the system SDU uses for your exams from now on.
The system will be used for all exam types, including set and open take home assignments, oral exams, course participation and written campus-based exams. Master´s theses and Bachelor´s projects will not be in Digital Exam before winter exams in 20/21.
In Digital Exam you can:
- submit your written assignments
- see the start date and submission deadline for your written assignments
- see the date and time of your written campus-based exams and oral exams
- see the location (room number) of your written campus-based exams and oral exams
Keep up to date on your exams in the exam schedule on mitSDU and in Digital Exam
Make sure to keep up to date with your exams, both in the exam schedule on mitSDU and in Digital Exam. That way you always have a complete overview of your exams.
You will receive e-mail notifications in your student e-mail from Digital Exam, when your exams are visible in the system.
Written assignment

You can see the start date and submission deadline for your written assignments in the exam overview in Digital Exam. You will get an e-mail notification, when exams are available in the system.
You can see your exams in Digital Exam as soon as they are ready
Your study programme will make your exams available in Digital Exam as soon as they are ready. Contact your study programme, if your exam is not visible in Digital Exam by 1 week before the exam begins.
Submit your written assignments with time to spare in case of technical difficulties
Make sure to submit your assignment with time to spare, to make sure you have time to solve potential technical issues before the submission deadline.
If you cannot submit your assignment due to technical difficulties, you need to document the issue
If you experience technical difficulties with the Digital Exam system, preventing you from submitting your assignment within the deadline, you need to document the issue, e.g. with a screenshot with the date and time visible, and send the documentation to your programme. You must submit your assignment as soon as the technical issue has been solved.
You can edit and delete your submission within the submission deadline
You can edit and delete your submitted assignment within the submission deadline. This does not apply to theses and similar final assignments. When uploading a new version, you override the version previously submitted. If you submit a new version after the submission deadline, your submission will be registered as a late submission, even if you have previously uploaded a version within the deadline. So make sure to upload your final version before the submission deadline.
You can submit your written assignment as a group in Digital Exam
If you are writing your assignment in a group, you can submit it together as a group in Digital Exam. See the guide on how to submit an assignment as a group.
You can upload large files in Digital Exam
If your assignment, or other material you need to submit, is a large file you can still submit it in Digital Exam. See the guide for uploading large files.
You will get a receipt when you have successfully submitted your assignment
You will get a printable receipt in the browser window, when you have pressed “Submit”. You will also receive a receipt in your student e-mail, confirming that your assignment has been submitted within the deadline. Check the e-mail receipt when you have submitted your assignment, to make sure is has been submitted correctly.

Written campus-based exams
In the exam overview in Digital Exam, you can get an overview of your written campus-based exams. You will get an e-mail notification, when exams are available in the system.
In the exam overview you can see:
• the dates and times for your written campus-based exams
• the locations (room numbers) of your written campus-based exams
You can see your exams in Digital Exam as soon as they are ready
Your study programme will make your exams available in Digital Exam as soon as they are ready. Contact your study programme, if your exam is not visible in Digital Exam by 1 week before the exam begins.

Oral exam
In the exam overview in Digital Exam, you can get an overview of your oral exams. You will get an e-mail notification, when exams are available in the system.
In the exam overview you can see:
• the dates and times for your oral exams
• the locations (room numbers) of your oral exams
If you are to receive exam questions before your oral exam, they will in some cases be posted in Digital Exam
In some cases, your exam questions will be posted in Digital Exam, if you are to receive them before your oral exam. If this is the case with your exam, you can find the exam questions by clicking the exam in the exam overview. In other cases, you will receive the exam questions trough Blackboard.
You can see your exams in Digital Exam as soon as they are ready
Your study programme will make your exams available in Digital Exam as soon as they are ready. Contact your study programme, if your exam is not visible in Digital Exam by 1 week before the exam begins.
Course participation
Courses where course participation, or a similar exam type, constitutes the exam in the course, will also be visible in Digital Exam. In the exam overview you can see if you are registered for the exam, as well as the exam type in the relevant course.
If the exam type is course participation, you do not need to do anything in Digital Exam, unless otherwise specified by your study programme.
