As a student at SDU you have the possibility to get free counselling sessions at the Research Clinic.
The sessions are conducted by psychology students who are doing internships at the clinic, who are at the end of their education.
The sessions take place under close professional guidance and supervision by authorised, experienced psychologists from the Department of Psychology.
All sessions are subject to confidentiality. The research clinic is based on the Ethical Principles for Nordic Psychologists. Sessions are offered in English, Danish and Norwegian. Psychology students may not receive this offer.
About the application process
Once you have contacted the clinic – either by email (please remember to use your student email) or by phone – we will get back to you as soon as possible via your student email. As the clinic is not specialized, we conduct a two-stage screening process, to ensure that you are provided with the best possible offer.
First, we will offer you a phone screening, which typically takes around 15 minutes. The purpose of this screening is to identify whether there is a more appropriate offer for your specific problem, and for us to get a brief understanding of who you are, and what you would like to talk about.
After the screening
After the phone screening you will either be directed to a more specialized offer or placed on the waiting list for a visitation session, until one of our interns is able to take on another client.
The visitation session is conducted at the clinic and takes approximately 90 minutes. During the session we will go more in depth about who you are, what you would like to talk about, and what your goals for the counselling sessions are.
