An academic advisor is a student employed by the university to help, guide, and support you as a fellow student.
For many students, an academic advisor is an important part of a good start to their studies and a smooth everyday student life.
We can answer questions you might not feel comfortable asking your lecturers, and we can also help you find various types of information.
We can assist you with, among other things:
-
Understanding the rules in your curriculum
-
Applying to the study board for, for example, credit transfer or exemption from regulations
-
Advice on elective courses
-
Getting the most out of your group work
-
Planning a study abroad stay
-
Creating individual study plans – for example, if you’ve fallen behind on ECTS credits, are an elite athlete, or going on parental leave
-
Everyday issues – for instance, if something isn’t working in relation to your classes or teaching
-
Other things where you don’t know where to find the answer
We’re also happy to listen to more personal concerns, and of course, we are bound by confidentiality.
In some cases, we may not be able or allowed to advise you, but in that case, we will refer you to the appropriate place.
We advise students in the following study programs in Esbjerg:
-
Business Administration (BSc)
-
Sociology and Cultural Analysis
-
MSc in Economics and Business Administration – all profiles
-
Cultural Sociology
-
Environmental and Resource Management
If you’re unsure who can help you, you’re always welcome to write to us – we promise not to let go until we’ve found the person best suited to assist you!
We look forward to speaking with you and helping you get the very best out of your student life!
Best regards,
