Entrepreneurs and their businesses have a huge impact on local and global economy (Baumol, 1986; Bessant & Tidd, 2007). Practice has shown that you do not need a degree in business science to start an exciting venture. And most of you have probably have already worked on ideas or projects, that could provide value for people and potentially turn into a successful business. In the research field on entrepreneurship education, there is an interest in exploring how to convey/stimulate/provoke the entrepreneurial mindset - and that is exactly what we will do in this course!
In this elective, you will work on developing, concretizing and conceptualizing a business idea that is related to one or more of the 17 SDGs. There will be a strong focus on actions and local networking and we will also look at how external stakeholders can support the further development of your startup, as well as how this can lead to growth in the company.
In addition to the teaching, a range of activities will be arranged, which will support the course - e.g. Venture Cup, Creative Business Cup or similar competitions as well as events arranged by Business Kolding and Erhvervshus Sydjylland.
The course will primarily take place in Kolding.
Remember to choose your electives between May 20-30.
