A MSc in IT – Web Communication Design is an intense learning process in which you learn to:
- configure, apply and develop digital applications and information products with relevance to web-based communication

- understand, reflect on and evaluate theories, strategies, methods and standards in the field of communication, interaction and IT
- apply formats and standards for structuring, presenting and exchanging information content in web-based communication
- convey research based knowledge and discuss professional and scientific questions with colleagues as well as non-specialists
- initiate and carry out professional and interdisciplinary cooperation and assume professional responsibility

What will you work as when you’ve finished your education? This question has probably been given to you in numerous occasions without you knowing what to answer. With a specialisation in Web Communication Design you can:
- evaluate and apply theories, principles and methods in the fields of communication, interaction and IT in relation to planning and designing web-based communication in a broader organisational context
- design and develop digital applications and information products with relevance for web-based communication based on a knowledge of technologies, formats and standards
- design and implement tests of the user friendliness of web application
- analyse and evaluate web content and carry out web-based communication jobs
- evaluate and apply theory of pedagogy and IT-mediated learning for the design and consultancy of skills development in an organisational context
- describe and analyse ethical IT issues as well as submit design proposals that deal with such issues
This MSc is a multi-disciplinary graduate programme that combines IT, communication and organisation. The overall focus of the programme is on the opportunities and challenges of working with the web in relation to knowledge management and communication. This means that you will learn to evaluate and apply theories, principles and methods in the fields of communication, interaction and IT in the context of planning and designing web-based communication.
Several times during your studies, you may doubt what you’re doing - and if you have chosen correctly. Although doubts can be uncomfortable, doubts are a chance to think about what choices you have doing your studies. The options can help to tune your profile in the direction you think is exciting and makes sense in your career plans.
Perhaps you think it might be exciting to work in the IT industry, at media and cultural institutions, with learning or something else entirely, but you don’t know if you have what it takes. Luckily you have a chance to figure it out during your studies.
It may be that you find it exciting to try a work placement/company-based internship and / or try studying abroad to get to know another culture, test your competences and discover new possibilities.
Or maybe you are considering trying a student job in which you can get the opportunity to solve tasks where you make use of some of your competences from your studies and discover new career opportunities that you didn’t know would be an opportunity for someone with your skills.
