All students currently enrolled in the Master's Programme, including those commencing their studies in September 2026, will be able to complete the programme. SDU will ensure that the necessary conditions and support are in place for you to finish your studies.
For a number of years, the Master's Programme has been characterized by a relatively limited national recruitment base and a significant reliance on international students to maintain a sustainable intake. At the same time, applications have declined considerably in recent years, both among Danish and international applicants.
The decision is not a reflection of a lack of academic quality or relevance. On the contrary, the programme has produced graduates with highly sought-after competences for the healthcare sector and the public sector. Rather, the decision reflects a necessary prioritization resulting from a prolonged period of recruitment challenges and changes to regulations concerning self-financing students from countries outside the EU/EEA.
For those of you who have been admitted to the Master's Programme in Public Health as of 1 September 2026, this means that you are, for the time being, the last cohort to be admitted to the programme.
You have been admitted on the same terms as all other students. Consequently, you will have the right to three examination attempts for all examinations in the programme and the opportunity to make use of the maximum period of study permitted in accordance with your enrolment date.
