Unforeseen circumstances during pregnancy, birth and parental leave

If the pregnancy does not go as planned

If anything unforeseen happens during pregnancy, birth or parental leave that affects your ability to study and take exams, or results in the leave period being placed at an inconvenient time, you can apply for dispensation from current rules through your study board. Link to My studies.

You can read more about extraordinary conditions and dispensations here.

Examples of extraordinary conditions can be:

  • You become ill during pregnancy.
  • Or could not take the exam because of illness or birth.
  • You thought you would be able to take an exam, but on the day of the exam, your child becomes ill.
  • You or your child becomes ill and you are not able to return your studies as planned.
