SDU Odense

Police and emergency services to hold a drill at Campus Odense on 1 September

On Tuesday 1 September, from 07.30-17.00, a certification drill for bomb disposal experts will take place in a designated area on Campus Odense. This means that police and emergency services will be present and visible on campus. This is a planned drill – not a real incident.

The drill on the campus in Odense forms part of the training and national certification of EOD personnel, also known as bomb disposal experts. SDU provides the facilities for the drill and an area on Campus Odense will be cordoned off for this purpose.

Participants in the drill will include:

  • incident commanders from the police and fire service
  • forensic technicians
  • bomb-sniffing dogs
  • an EOD team.

The area of the drill will be marked with signs. Please respect the markings and follow any instructions from the drill staff. The drill will take place in the area marked on the map below and will not affect parking, entrances or cycle paths.

During the exercise, you may hear sounds resembling gunshots, but only water will be used.
