The opening of Odense Light Rail is celebrated at SDU
On Saturday 28 May, Odense’s new light rail will be taking its inaugural trip through the city streets. During the day, all the stations from Tarup Shopping Centre to the two stops at SDU will be inaugurated, and the campus will celebrate the occasion with activities and light refreshments.
Come and have an enjoyable day at SDU in Odense on Saturday 28 May. The city’s new light rail, which has two stops at the Odense campus, will be inaugurated throughout the city, and you have the opportunity to join in on the celebrations. From 11 a.m. there will be activities for the whole family and, of course, the opportunity to witness the light rail’s first official ride.
At the Videnbyen stop, there will be Danish ‘bus cakes’ (oblong macaroon-like biscuits), slushies and popcorn – and you can enter a drawing competition! At the stop a few hundred metres further on, at the main entrance to SDU, chocolate will be offered while stocks last.
If you’re considering a family outing on Saturday, the athletics stadium or one of the scenic walk ‘n’ talk trails are great options. And, of course, seeing Odense’s new public transport in action.
