Teaching and examination periods

Teaching periods

  • Autumn semester: September to December (up to and including week 51)
  • Spring semester: February to May (up to and including week 22)

Teaching can take place outside the periods mentioned, for example field courses and courses planned as intensive programmes in August. In that case, it will be explicitly stated in the course description.

Week 42 and Tuesday-Wednesday before Maundy Thursday are lecture-free.

Examination periods

  • Ordinary examinations, winter: January
  • Re-examinations, winter: Mondays in the period from February until the end of April
  • Ordinary examinations, summer: June
  • Re-examinations, summer: August

Examinations may be scheduled in weekends as well.

Special occasions

  • Constitution Day (5 June) is lecture-free.
  • Due to institutdysten there are no lectures after 10.00 a.m. on the day before General Prayer Day.
  • The last Friday in Octobe is lecture-free due to the Annual University Celebration.

Important deadlines

  • Registration for autumn courses: 20-30 May
  • Registration for spring courses: 20-30 November
  • Registration for ordinary winter exams (if you haven't registered for the course itself): 1-15 September
  • Registration for ordinary summer exams (if you haven't registered for the course itself): 1-15 February
  • Registration for re-exams in February-April: 1-20 January
  • Registration for re-exams in August: 1-20 June
  • Submission of project contracts: 1 week after the start of the semester in which the project is started
  • Replacement of electives: 3 weeks after the start of the semester in which you have registered for the course
