There are many options for writing s master thesis within the field of Innovation and Business Development. Most master theses are based on an empirical case, either a company, industry or phenomenon. Most often the student secures access to the case setting, but at times that is not possible, and then thesis may be based on archival data (secondary data).

 

Some examples of master thesis topic in the profile are:

  • Implementation of a digital tool in a large organization – many large organizations have internal units developing new (digital) tools to increase productivity, but adoption throughout the organization often hinges on local/mid-level managers. Analyzing these managers’ willingness to adopt is crucial for ensuring that the organization captures value from the investment into digital tools and optimize productivity
  •  The development of mobile pay in the Danish banking sector – a historical, industry level analysis of the development and spread of a digital innovation. The analysis considers industry dynamics, organizational level collaboration and technology
  • Opportunities for exploratory green innovation in a traditional industry – an analysis of how a traditional oil company can develop a more ambidextrous innovation strategy focus on both more cost efficient production of oil and gas and on sustainable energy production
  • Organizational innovation to engage and retain key employees during parental leave – more than half of all employees taking a long period of parental leave ends up finding new employment, an analysis of employees and organizations perspective on parental leave and the employer-employee relationship during parental leave analyze the value of an organizational innovation aimed at improving employee satisfaction during leave and reducing parental leave related employee turnover
  • Innovation strategy for stated owned gambling services – an analysis of how state owned gambling services can balance the need for innovating new (potentially addictive) game types and secure market shares with the public good (reducing ludomania and keeping a high market share and profit to direct to public investments).
