Enrolment in exams and cancellation of exam registration

You are automatically registered for the exam when you have been registered for a course

You are automatically registered for the exam when you have been registered for a course. If you are not registered for a course but wish to register for an exam, you must do so during specific exam registration periods, which vary from faculty to faculty. You can see the time periods below.

  • The Faculty of Humanities: 20. - 30. October (winter exam) / 20. - 30. March (summer examination)
  • The Faculty of Science: 1. - 15. Sep. (winter examination) / 1. - 15. Feb. (summer examination)
  • The Faculty of Business and Social Sciences: 20. - 30. October (winter exam) / 20. - 30. March (summer examination)
  • The Faculty of Health Sciences: 1. - 15. Sep. (winter examination) / 1. - 15. Feb. (summer examination)
  • The Faculty of Engineering: There is no examination registration period. Registration for examination takes place through the course registration.

Check your registration for examination at the student self-service

It is important that you always check your exam registrations on the student self-service system in due time before the exams and before the end of the examination registration period.

Pay attention to examination notices and examination schedules on your programme’s home page and on Digital Exam

Exam notices with the dates and venues for the exams and the date for the publication of the grades can be found either on your programme's home page or on Digital Exam (in rare cases on Itslearning). As changes might occur, you need to continuously stay updated.

You may only enter the examination room if you are on the final examination lists, which are normally made public on Digital Exam. You must therefore make sure that you are on the relevant and necessary examination lists. If you are in doubt or have questions, you can contact Educational Law & Registration through spoc.sdu.dk as soon as possible.

Withdrawal from examination

Once you have registered for a subject or exam it is not possible to withdraw. Therefore, it is important that you consider it carefully before registering and that you also read the pages here.

If extraordinary circumstances mean that you need to withdraw from a course or an exam, you can petition your study board to be allowed to withdraw. You can read more about what extraordinary circumstances are here

You use an exam attempt even if you don’t take the exam

Please also be aware that you use an exam attempt even if you don’t take the exam. This is also the case for re-examinations.
