Are you planning to complete your Bachelor programme at the summer or winter exams and continue on to a Master’s degree programme in September/February? If so, read on here if you want to be sure that your SU is in order

SU for Master’s degree programme

You must be admitted and have accepted your study place before you can apply for SU
You are eligible for SU for your Master’s degree programme from February if you complete your Bachelor programme at the winter exams (incl. any re-examinations in February)

You must apply for SU between 1-15 January if you want your SU for February paid out on the last weekday in January.
Remember that you can apply for SU for February until 28/29 February.

You must be admitted and have accepted your study place before you can apply for SU

You are eligible for SU for your Master's degree programme from July if you complete your Bachelor programme at the summer exams in June (including any re-examinations in August).

You must apply for SU between 1-15 June if you want your SU for July paid out on the last weekday in June.
Remember that you can apply for SU for July until 31 July.

In order to receive SU in the gap between your Bachelor and Master’s degree programmes, the gap must not exceed 2 months.

For example, you are not entitled to SU between your Bachelor and Master’s degree programmes if you complete your Bachelor's degree in May and start your Master’s degree programme in September.

If you do not complete your Bachelor programme, you are not allowed to be enrolled in a Master’s degree programme. You will therefore be disenrolled from the latter.

Your SU for your Master’s degree programme will therefore automatically cease and you must reapply for SU for your Bachelor programme.

Please contact the SU Office on SPOC if this situation applies to you

If you are granted a dispensation to take subjects and exams in your Master’s degree programme while completing your Bachelor programme, you are only entitled to receive SU for your Bachelor programme.

Therefore, please don’t forget to apply for your Bachelor programme SU again via minSU – Apply for SU – Apply for SU (Danish: minSU – Søg SU – Søg SU).

Once you have earned your Bachelor's degree, you will be transferred to ‘the correct’ Master’s degree programme so that you can apply for SU there.

Please contact Educational Law & Registration and ask them to transfer you to the Master’s degree programme framework.

Keep in mind that it is the enrolment in your central subject that entitles you to receive SU – so even if you’re studying your elective subject(s) at another university, you will receive SU from SDU.

That’s because you are enrolled here and only a guest student at the other university
