Entrepreneurship and Diploma at SDU Kolding

Develop your ideas and have your entrepreneurial skills officially recognized. At SDU Kolding, you have the opportunity to engage in entrepreneurship both through your studies and in the vibrant campus environment - and receive a diploma as proof of your efforts.

If you've been particularly active in SDU's entrepreneurial environment – for example through projects at Pakhuset, electives, or volunteer activities – you can receive a Diploma in Entrepreneurship as recognition of your extra effort and skills development.

Here's how you do it

  • Throughout your studies, collect documentation of your activities – such as projects, events, and collaborations you've participated in.

  • As you approach the end of your studies, write a short application describing your learning and development based on SDU's learning objectives for entrepreneurship (see below).

  • You'll be offered individual feedback on your portfolio and skills development from a business developer or a career and employability consultant via Startup Station.

  • Send your application with relevant documentation to business developer Mikkel Søndergård Jensen (SDU RIO). Once your application is approved, you'll receive the diploma together with your degree certificate.

    The diploma is a strong asset on your CV and demonstrates that you can work innovatively and take responsibility for your own learning – skills that are in demand both in the business world and in entrepreneurial environments.

Learning objectives for the entrepreneurship programme

    • You develop an entrepreneurial mindset and conduct strategic analyses that you use to make informed decisions.

    • You independently and creatively initiate new projects and concepts.

    • You strengthen your skills in collaboration, critical thinking, communication, and creativity – and turn them into concrete actions.

    • You seek out relevant partners locally and nationally and actively engage in dialogue and knowledge sharing.

    • You manage tensions and dilemmas and make qualified decisions in complex situations.

    • You assess and consciously work with uncertainty and risk.

    • You take responsibility for how an organisation or company acts in society – based on knowledge and reflection.

    • You are familiar with the administrative procedures and organisational processes involved in starting a business – and can carry them out independently.

    • You have the skills to prepare a concrete action plan for starting a business, including a budget.

    • You have a general knowledge of relevant theories, models, and methods and can choose the ones that best illuminate and analyse a specific issue – and you can justify your choices.

    • You understand the relationship between economics and value creation and know how to ensure the sustainability of a concept.

    • You are familiar with the entrepreneurial environment in Kolding and know who the relevant business partners are.

Within your studies
Entrepreneurship is integrated into several programmes – especially Business Administration – and you can also choose electives in entrepreneurship and innovation regardless of your field of study.
