Last year some new exam rules were made which were very unreasonable and quite foolish to put it bluntly! I brought that up and I think it was a contributing factor to the rules being changed'.
- Frederikke, department council for the Department of Mechanics and Electronics
'I have helped to maintain the bachelor's defense at IVK for as long as possible'.
-Simon, the study board for IVK

-Michael, the study board for Law
'Extension of extra preparation time for oral exams, from 50% to 100%. This is the starting point for both dyslexia and psychological challenges in connection with exams.'
-Pia, Study Board for History
'I have gained a lot of great skills on the communicative level, especially the ability to be able to enter into a factual and professional discussion with lecturers and head of studies, where I have got my voice across.'
-Simon, Study Board for IVK
'Being a student representative can be seen as a position of trust, which is really good to have on your CV. I have gained an insight into how SDU works behind the education. I have gained knowledge about and an insight into how the education is quality assured and improved. I have created a network that I will also be able to use after graduation.'
-Nanna, the study board for SUND
'Network, as you meet teachers other than the ones you just have, as well as from other related programmes. Greater insight into how a university really works, and far greater knowledge of what is going on and moving around us.'
-Pia, Study Board for History
'I have gained an insight into the structure of the education and all the administrative/legal aspects surrounding our study. It is a pleasure to see how seriously the evaluations are taken and how much the studio wants it for the students.'
-Omar, Study Board for Audiology
'I have developed a much closer relationship with the teachers, the administration and my fellow students from other years. I have also received a course in change management, which has been very useful.'
-Anna, the study board for Political Science.
'We have a Board of Studies meeting once a month, which lasts 2.5 hours. I also spend 1-2 hours reading through the materials. So in total I spend around 4-5 hours a month.'
-Fenja, the study board for Danish, German and Spanish.
'The meetings usually last 2 hours, and there is one a month + a few extraordinary meetings. I use approx. 1-2 hours on preparation for each meeting.´
-Laura, the study board for Market and Management Anthropology
'I have one meeting of 3 hours each month (minus July). The meetings are always with a nice lunch and drinks, so it's quite nice. For this, I use quite varying preparation time. A number of appendices and the like must always be read, which takes anywhere between 0.5-2 hours. If I would like to have a case on the agenda, however, the preparation time increases quite a bit, as I then have to do research, write appendices and formulate arguments. But it is completely voluntary and not something that happens every month. ´
- Anna, the study board for Political Science.
'DO IT! It's great to be involved, because as a student here you have a real influence on your studies and can make suggestions and changes.'
-Fenja, the study board for Danish, German and Spanish.
'Do it, even if you're not sure. The experiences, the network, the responsibility and the many other things that follow are absolutely indispensable. I started in the second semester with the hope of getting something to do during the Corona pandemic, and now it has been a springboard to much more commitment.'
-Simon, the study board for IVK
'Don't be nervous about what the other members think, regardless of their title. They listen to you and take you seriously. You are welcome to say something that perhaps a student representative would like to say.'
-Sebastian, Academic Council at the Technical Faculty
'Do it! It's exciting, not particularly time-consuming, and it's rewarding and important to be part of local democracy in your education.'
-Johanne, the study board for Cultural Studies and Literary Studies.
'Do it! We need more students to get involved in their education, and this is undoubtedly the most direct and influential way to do it.'
-Gunnar, the Board of Studies for Psychology
