Vissing Foundation

The foundation is aimed at Danish startups that are transitioning from idea or concept to testing and realization of a solution. The funding is primarily targeted at activities that can contribute to developing, testing, and commercializing new technologies.

To apply to the Vissing Foundation via SDU Startup Station, it is a requirement that you have an active affiliation with SDU Startup Station.

• All parts of the process, from development to supply, storage, and reduction (of e.g. CO₂) in both products and systems.
• It does not have to be projects specifically aimed at energy and climate. It can also be technologically smart solutions that can indirectly help address major societal challenges in these areas.

• Integrated solutions for energy, climate, environmental, and biodiversity management
• Digital solutions for energy optimization in production, transport, and construction
• New forms of energy production, e.g. biofuels, PtX, or CO₂ capture
• Energy storage in batteries and other systems
• Improving energy efficiency in businesses and private homes

To be eligible for funding, the company must:

• Be based in Denmark
• Have a CVR number
• Have a Danish bank account

• Salaries for founders/owners. However, funding may be granted for salaries to third parties who contribute to development or testing, e.g. app development, technical testing, engineering assistance, laboratory work
• Travel expenses. However, travel expenses related to commercialization may be covered
• Expenses for courses and conferences
• Study trips
• Expenses for publications
• Administrative costs

For your application to be valid, it must be endorsed by a business developer from SDU Startup Station. The application itself should be relatively short, but must be precise and clearly linked to the proposed budget activities.

There are four annual deadlines:

• 28 February
• 31 May
• 31 August
• 15 November

The expected response time is within 30 days. In special cases, it may take up to two months. You will receive a response directly from the Vissing Foundation.
