The Semester Start Party Needs Your Assistance
The largest Semester Start Party will be held in less than a week, but there is still a chance to become a volunteer on September 14.
“Make it wilder, make it wilder”. It is easy to imagine that this was the motto while
planning this year's blast of a party.
The ambitions have been grand, and the result will be
nothing less than the largest-scaled Semester Start Party ever thrown since the
first time, students were able to partake in the annual event.
The event planners expect approximately 5,000 guests, and
events on this scale require a large team of volunteers.
The event has always attracted student volunteers, wanting
to partake in the team and meet each other across faculties. Taking the large
scale of the party into consideration, the event committee have unfortunately
fallen short of time.
HR-planner Sarah Krogsgaard Monrad explains this situation
with the fact that it is hard to reach out to students during August, while
many students are still on holiday.
This is the reason that the event planners open for
volunteer registration in September where there is also an influx of new
students. Additionally, the consideration for new students outweighs early
registration because otherwise new students would not be aware of events and
activities on campus before the start of the semester.
Unfortunately, the Semester Start Party has reached at a situation
where they still need more volunteers to work at different positions on the
event site. If the party was the size of last year’s, there would be enough
volunteers, but because of new additions, such as silent disco, the need for more volunteers has grown.
If you have spent all your student benefits purchasing new
books or blown them on cocktails at LA-bar this weekend, then this is the
opportunity to attend the party free of charge while acquiring lots of new
friends.
HR-planner Sarah Krogsgaard Monrad promises that you will
have a terrific time. You will still be able to have a great evening with your friends
or new friends working the bar or during the setup of the event site, where you
will be able to enjoy yourself with free beer.
In other words, you will have the opportunity to get closer
to your co-students while having a blast of a night.

”We have volunteers who return year after year because it is pretty fun and cozy. We have all become quite well acquainted. I constantly meet volunteers in the hallways
You will have the possibility to influence what type of work you would like to
do and at what times. You just have to send a prioritized list to the
organizers, and they will sort out a schedule taking your requests into
consideration. You are guaranteed to get either your first or second priority
fulfilled.
In addition to free admission into the party, volunteers and bar personnel will
be treated with complimentary food and beverages during working hours. On top
of that, all volunteers participating in the setup of the party site will receive two beer coupons and are automatically
entered into a contest to win a bottle of spirits in a club after the Semester
Start Party. The additional volunteers will automatically enter a contest where
the prize is a bottle of spirits at the volunteer party which will be held on
September 28.
All volunteers will be invited on September 28 where they will be treated with
free food and drinks for five hours. The winner of the bottle contest will get
the prize after the free bar has shut down.
You get an extra party if you volunteer. Sarah Krogsgaard Monrad although still
has one last cheery on the icing. The volunteers who have worked during the
party will be invited to bowling and laser-tag.
