Quantum & Crémant: Scattering Amplitudes: From Number Theory to Precision Physics

Speaker: Matthias Oliver Wilhelm
Centre for Quantum Mathematics, IMADA

Abstract: Our understanding of physics at the most fundamental scales is to a large degree based on our ability to make very precise measurements that can be compared with very precise theory predictions. In order to make such predictions, a thorough understanding of the numbers and functions that occur in the result is crucial. In this talk, I will give an overview of the numbers and functions that arise, with applications ranging from collider to gravitational-wave physics.

Location: D-IAS AUD (V24-501a-0)

The event is open to all. Crémant and petits fours will be served.
