Orientation Days in Odense

The Orientation programme for the autumn 2024 semester will be announced in May/June 2024.

Orientation programme for international full degree students

As an international full degree student starting at SDU, you will take part in an orientation programme divided into two parts: an online orientation and an on-campus introduction programme. 

Online orientation

This orientation will be hosted by SDU International and will revolve around life in Denmark, what Odense has to offer, how to register with the Danish authorities, etc. You can access this orientation no matter where you are located. 

You will receive more information about the online orientation via your SDU e-mail in late December/early January.

On-campus introduction

This orientation will be hosted by your study programme. You can find the programme for this orientation here (choose your faculty and then your study programme). You must be present at SDU to participate.

Orientation programme for international exchange and guest students

As an international exchange or guest student starting at SDU, you will take part in an orientation programme divided into two parts: online Pre-Orientation Activities and on-campus Orientation Days. 

You will gain access to all the programs via Microsoft Teams (you received a link to the Teams group along with your enrolment letter).

Online Pre-Orientation Activities

In the Teams group, SDU International will give you access to videos detailing the process of registering with the Danish authorities.

You can access these videos no matter where you are located.

January 30^th, 2024: Orientation Day 1 for all international exchange and guest students

This day will be hosted by SDU International and will revolve around life in Denmark, what Odense has to offer, how to get your student card, etc. 

The programme will be made available available via the Teams group. You must be present at SDU to participate. 

January 31^th, 2024: Orientation Day 2 for all international exchange and guest students

This day is hosted by your faculty and will revolve around what it is like to study at SDU, SDU’s rules and requirements, etc. 

You will receive information about the programme via the Teams group later in January. You must be present at SDU to participate.

February 1^st, 2024: Students at all faculties start classes

How to register with the Danish authorities

You must visit the Danish authorities yourself to register for a residence permit, Danish Social Security Number (CPR), and health care in Denmark upon arrival.

The registration process depends on your nationality. SDU International will give you access to videos explaining exactly how to register. You can find information about these videos in Microsoft Teams.
