You should arrange your arrival so that you are able to participate in the introduction days that take place a few days before your semester begins. You will receive further details on the introduction programme by email.

When you arrive in Kolding you will be met by a buddy. A buddy is a current Danish or international student at SDU Kolding who will assist you in practical and social matters. A buddy is shared by a group of international students. Please notice that the buddy system is based on voluntary assistance.

If you arrive in Kolding by bus or by train, your buddy will meet you at the bus or railway station and taken to your accommodation.

If you are planning to arrive by airplane, you have two choices, either to fly to Copenhagen Airport and then by train to Kolding, or fly to Billund Airport and then by bus to Kolding. Either way, please see the section “Arrival by bus or train”.

If you arrive by car, you should go directly to the university at the following address: University of Southern Denmark, Universitetsparken 1, 6000  Kolding, from where you will be taken to your accommodation.

The campus parking lots are controlled by a parking company. Therefore, to avoid parking tickets, please remember to register your license plate, either on the iPad inside by entrance C or by registering for a parking permit. You can read more about parking rules here

Please note that the Students Services closes at 2 p.m. and is not open on weekends.

If you are planning on arriving outside office hours, please make sure that the buddy who is picking you up, is informed about any delays.

Your buddy has the keys to your new home in Kolding and will give them to you upon your arrival. Thus, it is very important that you let us know your expected time and place of arrival in Kolding. The name and contact information and where to send the information on your arrival is stated in your welcome e-mail.
