Doing the Master’s thesis in an autumn semester

You must sign up for the Master’s Thesis Project in November the year before you’re actually going to write it (i.e. when you sign up for the spring courses). When you sign up for the thesis project, you are automatically signed up for a thesis workshop or other thesis preparation activities in the spring semester.

If you fail to register
When you have passed 40 ECTS in your Master's programme, you must register for the Master's Thesis project. If you have not signed up for the Master's Thesis Project by the beginning of the spring semester, but have passed 40 ECTS, you’ll automatically be signed up for the thesis project. For Master's programmes with an expanded Master's level minor subject (75 ECTS), it is not until you pass 70 ECTS, that you are automatically registered for the Master's thesis project.
