Top 10 questions at study start

You have to pick up your student identity card from SDU International when you arrive at SDU. They will let you know where and when you can pick it up.

If you haven´t received any information, contact SDU International.

It is important that you develop good study habits right from the onset of your studies. The Counselling Centre has collected some important skills and tips on how to secure good habits and structure in your studies.

As a part of your study start you will also be invited to a workshop on academic method and how to get the best results at your exams. You can see the date and time in the Orientation Day programme.

The University Library also offers a range of courses and events such as practical writing, academic writing, literature search and so on.

Spring semesters start on February 1st and Autumn semesters start on September 1st.
For the exact time schedule, look at your courses.

For the full duration of your study, we expect you to stay updated about your courses through announcements from SDU on the following sites:

You will be informed about these practical matters as part of your Orientation Days. But remember, that it is your responsibility to stay updated on changes in the syllabus, your exam plan, etc.

If you are still in doubt, contact SDU International or the Student Guidance Service.

On itslearning you’ll find book lists for all of the subjects you will be taking in the upcoming semester. The book lists are often not released until just before the start of the semester, as your lecturers usually do not finish planning for the semester until this time.

It is always a good idea to ask your lecturers for advice on which literature you must make a priority to buy and which literature are of secondary importance.

The university has its own bookstore where you can buy all the books. However, sometimes you may be so lucky that you can borrow the books you need from the library, or buy them used from older students or at www.pensum.dk

If you get ill during the study start period, make sure to follow up on important information that you may have lost.
