Dear BA and MA graduates of English Studies 2022/2023!
We plan to celebrate and congratulate you on having achieved (or on having very soon achieved) your MA or your BA in English Studies, Wednesday 28 June from 13:00 in room U1.
A more detailed program will follow, but you can expect:
• An introductory speech by Peter Simonsen, which will contain ample anecdotes and reflections on time passed and passing, but also strong hope and faith that you’ll all go on to have great careers and, more importantly, meaningful lives on the basis of your strong education and general disposition to make good choices (having chosen English in the first place).
• Gestures – albeit relatively symbolical – in recognition of outstanding contributions to English studies, academic and non-academic, by graduating BAs and MAs.
• Hopefully short presentations of BA and MA projects (I am thinking about a working format)
• And, in culmination, a festive, jubilatory graduation speech by Professor, Casper Sylvest
• Followed by drinks and snacks!
Please, do sign up and attend also if you haven’t received your grade for your MA thesis yet, or if you haven’t submitted it yet (for whatever good reason).
We have a very big room, U1 can seat up to 213 persons!, but until 1 June, please don’t register more than 4 guests pr student. After 1 June we can see if there are extra seats in case someone wants to bring extra guests.
