An academic student advisor is a student employed by the university to help, guide and mentor you as a student.

For many, an academic student advisor is part of a good start to studies and a good study day.
We can answer questions that you might not want to ask the teachers about and we can also help you find various information.

We can help you with:

• Reviewing the rules in your study plan
• To apply to the Board of Studies for e.g. credit or exemption from the rules
• Advice on electives
• Getting the most out of your study group work
• Planning a stay abroad
• Individual study plans, if you e.g. have fallen behind with ECTS, are an elite athlete or if you are going on maternity leave
• Problems in everyday life – e.g. if something does not work in relation to the conduct of the teaching
• Other things you don't know where to find answers to

We are also happy to listen to problems of a more individual nature, and of course we are bound by confidentiality.
In some cases, it is not certain that we as academic supervisors can/must guide you, but then you will be referred to the right place.

We guide both physically and digitally

• If you prefer physical guidance on campus, you are welcome in our office 61.47 on level 6, where you can talk to one of us in peace and quiet. We have meeting times by appointment. (Only available when the university is open for students)
• If you prefer a digital guide, we will meet on zoom. We have a camera on so we can see each other and we share a screen so we speak from the same point of view.
• If you prefer telephone guidance, we will be happy to call you at a time that suits you.

The academic advisors are fellow students appointed and trained by the university to help you when lost in the program curriculum, university regulations and bureaucracy or when in educational trouble for some reason.

The advisors can guide you to get in touch with the relevant university office, guide you how to apply for an exemption or credit transfer from the academic board, or give you personal advice to be a more efficient student.
