1) Introductory lecture
Introductory lecture on comparative analysis, cultural understanding, main healthcare systems and principles for academic writing,
2) Stay Abroad
Two week stay abroad at one of Global Health’s destinations.
3) Daily reflection notes during the stay abroad
The reflection notes must be relevant to the theme or research area chosen for the assignment.
4) Global Health Seminar
Oral group presentation (in English) at the Global Health seminar that focuses on the healthcare challenges experienced during the study trip and reflections of these by the group, including cultural aspects. The presentations should demonstrate that the students have actively reflected on the relevant learning outcomes of the course.
5) Written group assignment
A written group assignment that includes a comparative analysis of a pre-defined healthcare challenge in the foreign and the Danish healthcare systems. The analysis should be based on learned healthcare models and scientific literature. The students should show an understanding of the healthcare systems in the context of the chosen challenges/focus, as well as an understanding of cultural differences that can affect the healthcare challenge. The analysis finishes with a discussion and conclusion of the differences and challenges of the foreign country compared to those in Denmark. The discussion should demonstrate that the students have actively reflected on the learning outcomes of the course.C) Global Health seminar
