When do I need an ID card?
You will need an ID card for all locked doors where a card reader is
located.
The doors are locked outside of the University’s normal opening hours.
SDU has a common electronic access control system. The purpose is to increase security and simplify the administration of access to the University’s buildings.
As a general rule, the University’s exterior doors are open Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
If you require access outside of opening hours, you must use your card.
You are encouraged to always have your ID card (= student card) handy, as some areas on campus are always locked.
How do I get an ID card?
You will receive a student card at the beginning of your studies. The student card works as an ID card.
Do I have to activate the ID card?
Yes, you must activate the card yourself.
SDU has two different IT solutions for acces control, and therefore there are two different ways to activate your card:
Esbjerg, Odense, Slagelse and Sønderborg
To activate your ID card, you have two options;
A) Send an email adkrobot@sdu.dk
Write your desired PIN code in the subject field of the email as follows:
nypin card number desired PIN code
Example: nypin 281213 6541
Remember to include spaces.
Note: You must send the email from your SDU email account.
B) Use tablets
You can ude the tablets located inside the entrances.
Place the card in front of the screen an follow the on-screen instructions.

Winsløwparken
To activate your ID card, you must use a Buanco card reader with a display. These are located at all entrances.
Gently swipe your ID card through the slot on the right side of the card reader. The card should be held with the brown stripe to the left as shown on the card reader.
When the card reader has approved your ID card, ‘ENTER NEW PIN’ will appear on the display.
Enter 4 digits of your choice.
Repeat the 4 digits
