If you have to buy a new computer as a student at SDU, please read our recommendations and minimum requirements for your new computer. It's a necessity to follow these recommendations otherwise you will not be able to use your computer for the exams at SDU.

Be aware of, that your Faculty of study can have individual requirements for your computer in order for it to be able to run specific softwares, that's being used for specific courses. Therefore, please contact your Faculty to make sure, that your new computer can be used for your courses and exams. You will find the contact information for your secretary on your study page under 'Contact'. The secretary is usually at the top of the list of contact persons.
For this reason, the following recommendations for SDU equipments are the common IT requirements at SDU. However, this does not mean that they apply to your course and Faculty.
- PC - Windows 10 or Windows 11 with Edge or Google Chrome
- Mac - macOS Sonoma, macOS Ventura or macOS Monterey with Safari or Google Chrome
- Memory - 16 GB RAM
- We do not recommend that you buy a Chromebook since it can't be used for exams at SDU
