Generalist German pt. 1

In the course, you will get a broad introduction to German culture and society, and above all, you will have the opportunity to work with the language and further develop your language skills. You will work with topics in German culture, society, politics and history. Along the way, you will practice practical skills such as pronunciation, vocabulary, listening comprehension and free conversation. At the same time, the course is flexible in its content, so participants have the opportunity to make their own mark on the topics we work with.

The course lasts one semester and begins with a start-up seminar on Saturday, February 3 from 10-16 in Odense. After that, there will be ongoing classes once a week until week 17 (however, there will be no classes in week 7 and 13). A two-day excursion to Flensburg will be organized as part of the course. The excursion is scheduled to take place on 6-7 April, 2024. You will receive more information about this during the course. 
 
Teaching will take place physically on campus Odense. If you are a student on another campus, please contact sprogkurser@sdu.dk and we will see if we can find a solution for you. The weekly classes will take place as follows (subject to changes in the schedule below):

If the number of registrations exceeds the capacity limits, we reserve the right to reject students who wish to enroll. Registration is based on a first-come, first-served basis.

Similarly, we reserve the right to cancel a course if there are not enough registrations.
As a starting point, the teaching language is German, however the participants' level is taken into account.
The course is intended for both Danish and international students at SDU.

In order to receive a certificate of participation, you must actively and regularly participate in 75% of the classes offered (the excursion will not be included in the calculation). This means that you must be present and actively participate in the classes offered as well as complete the assignments related to the course.
