Subject-specific German lessons - German for students studying a social science or technical programme

According to the Danish Industry (Dansk Industri) Danish companies are looking for employees who speak German. If you are studying a social science or technical degree and want a language profile that will enhance your career opportunities in a German company or organization or in a German-speaking country, then this course is for you.

Practical information about the course

The course prepares you to communicate in German on topics that are relevant in a social science or technical context.

There is one course for each of the two subject areas: Social Sciences and Engineering. The course lasts one semester with ongoing classes once a week physically on campus Odense. If you are a student on another campus, please contact sprogkurser@sdu.dk and we will see if we can find a solution for you. Similarly, we reserve the right to cancel a course if there are not enough registrations.
As a starting point, the teaching language is German, however the participants' level is taken into account.
The course is intended for both Danish and international students at SDU.

You must have German language skills equivalent to B2 to be admitted to the course.

Before you enroll, we will therefore ask you to take an online language test. This can be done by contacting sprogkurser@sdu.dk, after which you will receive further instructions.

NOTE: Due to the Christmas holidays, please do not expect a response from sprogkurser@sdu.dk between December 21, 2023 and January 1, 2024 (both days included). In the event that your language test result is lower than B2 (i.e. B1, A2, A1 or below A1), you will have the option of enrolling in the Generalist German language course, which we will also offer in spring 2024.

In order to receive a certificate of participation, you must actively and regularly participate in 75% of the classes offered (the excursion will not be included in the calculation). This means that you must be present and actively participate in the classes offered as well as complete the assignments related to the course.
